Unusual Hobbies List

Ever wanted to step out of the crowd and do something different when it came to a hobby? Are you the kind of person who likes the wacky side of life? Then the unusual hobbies list here in this write up will be quite helpful...
You have engaging hobbies that anyone would look at as normal, but there are hobbies that not many of us would perceive as - sane or ordinary to take up. Some of these hobbies are actually pretty neat if you think about them.

People come up with the oddest activities to while away their time with, not ever wondering if what they're doing is actually a waste of time or not. I for one collect plain, glossy chocolate wrappers, but only because I have a major crafts project on my mind - not so weird right? Some people do the strangest of things, and somehow get others involved as well.

Strange and Unusual Hobbies

We now take a look at the hobbies that fall under what one would call in simple terms - off the wall. Let's find out here on which one grabs your attention and becomes a full-fledged hobby.

UFO Spotting
Anything that leans towards the extraterrestrial side of the universe, fascinates me and I'm sure thousands of others out there. The controversies and the cover-up are gripping, making us want to know so much more. A lot of people claim to have been witness to an alien sighting or have tales of being abducted by a foreign species. The ongoing and unending series of the X-files had me hooked since I was a kid, and I'm sure that you as much as anyone else who is just as interested - is dying to spot one of these illuminated disk shapes in the sky. Read through some books or browse through the web, and find out about places that have a maximum number of sightings. Get a good pair of binoculars and a video camera to record anything that you may spot.

Taphophilia
This term means the interest one takes in cemeteries; he/she is known as a taphophile. They find it somehow fun to photograph gravestones and anything that is fenced within a graveyard. They also indulge in art depicting cemeteries, and read a lot about the deaths of the famous. It seems like a creepy hobby when you think about it, but if you're gutsy and if this sort of thing doesn't give you goose pimples, then I guess it would prove to be quite an uncanny, but interesting hobby.

Starting a Fan Club
Gathering up a group of people who find a common interest in say a famous actor/actress/band/singer would seem fun. You could start out on your own club where the fans can get together and watch movie marathons or concerts for hours on end over the weekend. You can have members wear matching shirts with the actor's/actress'/band members'/singer's on the front. Decorate the fan club room with posters and memorabilia that you can travel around and collect from souvenir stores or their hometowns. Celebrate their birthdays, read up on them extensively and tour the country to catch a glimpse of your idols in the flesh. Don't forget your cameras and autograph books.

Tea/Coffee Covers Collection
Travel the country or around the world looking for exotic blends of coffee and tea, keeping the packaging for collection purposes. Get a nice scrap book or start a framing frenzy at home where you can have these all placed strategically face up on canvas. You can add details below each one like where you got it from or the date when you bought it.

Egg Art Collection
Start on an egg collection of converting ordinary eggshells into works of art. You can do this by carefully emptying the contents of the egg through a hole at its bottom, and then working on it. You can learn how to carve a shell out and make it look like it should be up in a museum instead, or you could experiment with color and get real artsy with the eggshell's surface. Collect these and start a showpiece collection of your work, and switch to bigger projects like maybe working on ostrich eggs instead.

Body Part Painting
Hear of Kira Ayn Varszegi's breast painting endeavors? This woman slathers paint all over her knockers and can actually produce what can only be described as abstract art. Her first painting when sold, fueled her passion to use her body as a medium to paint. It's out with the brushes and in with the - well you get the picture. You don't have to go down that road of extremity like Kira, but you can use other parts of yourself like your hands, where the fingers are known to be quite creative a tool in painting (finger painting that is). Take a class first and master the art of painting, or try to bring out your own creative skills while painting.
